JENNIFER KARNES, ESQ. 


Jennifer Karnes is a member of Anderson and Ochs LLP, and focuses on the areas of commercial litigation, real estate litigation, including condominium/cooperative law, and employment litigation. She joined the firm as an Associate in 2019. 


Ms. Karnes has tried numerous cases to verdict in both state and federal courts. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Karnes primarily focused on representing individuals in disability discrimination and sexual harassment lawsuits in state and federal courts. From 2013 to 2018, Ms. Karnes served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney's Office, handling a wide-array of felony matters. 


Ms. Karnes received her B.A from New York University. Ms. Karnes graduated magna cum laude from the University of Buffalo School of Law, where she served as a Publications Editor for the Buffalo Law Review, as the Head Note and Comment Editor for the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review, and as a Senior Member of the Buffalo Moot Court Board. 


During law school, Ms. Karnes served as a summer law clerk in the chambers of the late Honorable Michael A. Telesca in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. She also completed a student clerkship in the chambers of the Honorable Eugene M. Fahey, then of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Department. She also served as a summer law clerk for the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York.


Ms. Karnes was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in 2013 and to the Bar of the State of New Jersey in 2019. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Fifth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts of New York, the Eastern District of Michigan, and the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
